Portfolio of Work
Birds
This body of work focuses on the importance and beauty of nature’s diversity through highlighting various bird species and their habitats. Each bird is carefully researched and drawn to scale, then rendered in a watercolor base with details added in with a water-soluble pen. The birds are then cut out and collaged onto the intaglio prints, which abstractly depict the habitats of these birds. Each choice in materials, subject matter, and placement, intentionally creates imagery that evokes the beauty of nature and its ongoing struggle to survive.
